Privacy Policy – ParentLens

ParentLens ("the App") provides LLM-powered parenting guidance for parents and guardians. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights. The App is intended for use by adults only.

1. Information We Collect

We collect:

  • Parenting situation text you enter into the App. This is sent securely to our processing partner (OpenRouter) for generating a response using a Large Language Model (LLM).
  • Crash reports and usage statistics to improve the App's performance and reliability.
  • Account and authentication data (such as email, login credentials, and related profile information) stored securely in Supabase for account management.

We do not collect names, addresses, or other directly identifying information unless you voluntarily include it in your text inputs.

2. How Your Data Is Used

  • Parenting situation text is transmitted securely via HTTPS to OpenRouter, OpenRouter forwards your parenting situation text to a Large Language Model (LLM) provider to generate responses.
  • Crash reports and usage statistics are used to identify bugs, improve features, and enhance the user experience.
  • Account information stored in Supabase is used only for authentication, authorization, and account management.
  • We do not store or log the parenting situations you enter on our own servers.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third parties to operate the App:

  • OpenRouter – routes your parenting situation text to the LLM for processing.
  • LLM Provider – processes your parenting situation text to generate responses.
  • Supabase – provides secure account storage, authentication, and database services.
  • Analytics/Crash Reporting – We use Apple's built-in crash reporting and analytics via App Store Connect.

These services may temporarily receive your parenting situation text or account data for processing. We do not control how these providers handle your data beyond secure transmission and contracted service use.

4. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for parents and guardians, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age of digital consent in your country). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us for deletion.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Parenting situation text is not stored by us after it is processed.
  • Crash logs and usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for troubleshooting and improvement.
  • Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active; you may request account deletion at any time.
  • You may request deletion of any retained data by contacting us.

6. Data Security

ParentLens uses strong security measures to protect your information:

  • On-device encryption – Parenting situations and LLM responses are encrypted on your device before being stored in our database.
  • Developer access – Because the data is encrypted, we cannot read or access the contents of your situations.
  • Secure key storage – Encryption keys are stored securely on your device and are not synced to cloud services.
  • Transmission security – All communication with our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

These measures ensure that only your device can decrypt your situation data, and it remains private to you.

7. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmissions and Supabase's built-in security measures for account and database protection. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
